Sunrise at the Beach

Yesterday, I woke up when it was still dark and walked down to the beach with Brian.  While he surfed, I watched the sun rise and the world come to life.  It was perhaps the most beautiful natural display I've ever seen.

I'll have lots more pictures for you on Monday, but for now, here's just one of my faves.

The Weekend

It was a funny sort of weekend.

I slept in.  I ate strawberry ice cream for breakfast.  I wandered through the galleries at Bergamot Station.  I watched the sunset from our roof.  I drank wine in the shower.  I drank wine at Naresh's and talked about "some day."  I drank wine while we watched Bottleshock.  I fell asleep on the couch.  I went on a long run that felt inexplicably effortless.  I discovered pretzel-croissants at Thyme Cafe.  I sang along to the Rolling Stones.  I read the better half of Juliet, Naked by Nick Hornsby in the loft until the sun went down and it was too dark to see the words on the page.  I fell asleep on the couch (again).

It was long and short and a little bit blurry.  Glorious.

Mattresses and Closets

I have know a thing or two about moving.  But this is the first time I've moved somewhere so close that you could walk right over - our new place is literally 2 blocks from our old place!  The good thing about that is you don't have to rent a U-Haul.  The bad thing about that is you have no other way to carry your mattress over the overpass than walk with it on your head.

I wish I were kidding.  I also wish I had a photo of said incident.  But you know, I was busy balancing a mattress on my head.

Luckily, I did snap a picture of my second most amazing moving technique - over-the-door pull-up bar turned mobile closet:
